Secrets to changing sparkplugs...BBC

Okay, I am looking for secrets (not offering solutions) to changing Mercruiser Big Block plugs with Gil exhaust risers installed.
I have twin bored/stroked 454s in a Formula 311 and I can barely see 4 of the 16 plug wires...let alone see/access the plugs.
Are there some secrets?
And I thought it was tight under the hood of my twin turbo Nissan 300ZX!!!

I'm retired...so I probably have more time than money, BUT your point is well taken and I will probably go in that direction.
Thanks!

check to make sure they change them all... and not just by seeing 16 dirty plugs on a counter.

Another reason I want to do them myself

Why are you changing them? Is there an issue, fouling, running rough?

Think outside the box a little.

use a hose to go over the plug so you can spin it out and in. Works great.

removing wires done by feel. Putting them back on same way with last snap being a little pressure with just your thumb

to loosen plugs use rachett where possible offset box wrench from below where needed. Tighten same to get plugs out and started back in use rubber hose trick.

Go by feel and use an air ratchet. Have a wide variety of wobbles and extensions.
Use the hose method to get them started when you reinstall.

I have gils and can actually get in the bilge with ease. Gils absolutely suck for plugs. I made a special tool to get to mine but likely wouldn’t work if you can’t sit in front of the engines. But it’s a cut and trimmed chainsaw tool. Works perfect and makes it easy.

I have to remove carbs - put a piece of plywood with cushion pad on top of engine and lie face down on the motor and do it by feel - sucks
