And a performance boat would be my dreams... but I know w a stock engine, not quite sure what I could even do since the engine is all put together.. just worried that it’s gonna have to all be taken apart.. I couldn’t wrap my mind around that

Stock exhaust manifolds and risers ? If so, I’d stay with the Comp Cams Extreme Marine 256H which is 212,218 at .050” 112 LSA , and .447, .462 lift
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cca-cl12-232-3

With vortec heads, which you have, and 9:1-9.5:1 compression which i have no idea what you have, should make around 330hp or so with a 600-650 carb (tuned right) on your intake manifold . Prop it for around 4800rpm. Maybe 5k, but no more.

If you had better exhaust and check to see if your valve springs and retainer to guide clearance can handle the higher lift, the 218/224 comp cams extreme marine rips even more. The larger 224 at .050” better for 383’s and with better exhaust of course.

The exhaust that I bought there is no good? And so it’s looking like I’m gonna have to change the cam?🤦🏽‍♂️ I may just sell this damn boat if so.. tired of dickin with it. Was misguided by ppl who thought they knew what they was talking about.

Then run it. Maybe it won’t revert. Lol.

Why did you even ask.

why did i even help.

jeez.

Deal with this at work too. Ie: reparing things. Get same drama. too much .Psychiatrists charge more than I do. Not sure why I don’t change careers and don’t have to get dirty.

maybe i need a shrink

lololol

Yeah you definitely took it the wrong way.. I appreciate the help more than you know. I’m just frustrated at all of the time I’ve spent on making this boat everything and the thought of having to redo the whole process, just a very very hard hit to the head..

Most folks build auto motors, when building a boat you need a someone that knows boats not drag racing or circle tracks

My take of your issue and what SB said, is keep the exhaust you have an change the cam to the link in post 26.
