It has an XR yes. Not sure on if it has been apart at all. I will have to ask the previous owner.

The Gold crane factory stock rockers are known to have needle bearing issues. Inspect closely, one failure sends needles......everywhere. Fortunately they are just barely too big to fit through the oil pump intake screen

You may have a sealed gimbal bearing that can't be greased.

Well that's the latest trend with society.
But if he does wear his mask while operating the boat, I'm sure he'll do 2000 hours trouble free.

You can test your own headers like this but if the boat has been only fresh water they should be fine.

no malice on anyones part. it’s proven fact that blue motor valve trains need to be built around 250-350 hours.

the biggest problem is the weak springs. most times they are 100lbs pre-load which is half what it should be to maintain a stable valve train. there have been numerous reports of failed rockers. Not sure if it is wide spread or limited production run.

sadly the bravo xr drive is due too…this is about the time the clutch goes and gears are severely pitted.

for peace of mind…both items should be gone thru and pressure test headers while your at it.

i recently used it twice on my 525s without issue. You do have to tighten them up solid.

That filter is for gm systems that use a oring at connection to filter. Does the 525efi have oring on the kine there? Microfiche doesn’t show one.
