I run a blow through carb set up and if you don't have access to a dyno at least get a wide band o2 set up it will make adjusting the carb a little less difficult

I do preload: back off all rockers.
Starting with cyl #1 rotate engine clockwise until intake valve just about closed adjust exhaust. As you are slowly turning exh pushrod with fingers as you tighten exh rocker arm, right when pushrod resists turning, you are at 0 preload. Tighten exh rocker arm nut 1/2 turn. For #1 intake valve, do same procedure but when it’s exhaust valve just starts to open is when to adjust the #1 intake valve’s rocker srm. I’m sure there are many videos and better written instructions, but that’s how you do it . 1/2 turn works on all cam/lifter manufacturers stuff for american v8’s. |
