If you only siliconed the cut out plug back in, I would definitely keep an eye on that area for stress cracks when you are back on the water.
Essentially you cut a hole in a stringer support and siliconing the plug back in will not have the same strength as it did when it was solid fiberglass.

Point taken. Thank you.

I did think about that before doing it. Not very thick (3/16" ) fiberglass in that location. Obviously a round hole and in the center, not near a corner. My thought was like an arched bridge for strength.

Will keep an eye on them though. Can always glass them back in if need be. Even when the engine is installed.

xlint, in the same position as you! would love to use an offshore style mount but unfortunately my stringers are inaccessible without major work to get other style of mounts to work. Are you going to use upgraded pedestal mounts or keep stock? Ill post a pic of my setup after i have 10 posts lol

Checkmate,

Find a dead thread and just spam it to get your ten posts in.

Thanks. Brad.

I will most likely order a set of the billet mounts at hardin or CPP as well then while the engine is out. Ill post a pic of my setup (old pics, ignore the mess, its all cleaned up). Refreshing the engine and replacing the entire transom assembly / bilge pumps / wiring etc and figured new mounts would be in order. I would absolutely love to have offshore style mounts but I dont see how anything other than pedestal mounts will work in my setup

Yours, looks a lot like mine for sure.

There was a pic I was trying to find, but cannot now. In my search, I did see someone modified some angle aluminum to work on a similar set up as ours.
