The u-bolt nut part number is 11-134371. Can I just buy this at the hardware store instead of a marina? Does it matter?

what else can i do to diagnose my problem?
Better off to just replace the entire transom assembly

Can anyone explain to me what exactly I’m looking for to figure out why I have this much play in the outdrive? I don’t have a clear understand of how it all works, so that’s an issue. I’ve just been wiggling the outdrive back and forth trying to see the parts affected.

It’s tight when outdrive is turned towards the passenger side

The space that’s created turning the outdrive towards drivers side
