After a ride in both it's easy - Donzi ZR all the way...
The features , ride and handling far out-way the Cig name, BTW- all Cig's started w/ Donzi heritage, "can't we all get along..."
Anyone who would compare a ZR to a Baja has never ridden in or inspected one. ...or just bummed he didn't purchase the better boat.

I said I liked the Donzi, and have even been in a canopied race boat. Ride is awesome, but, like I said a Cig will always be a Cig. No mistaken that boat.

I once saw a girl here in Boca Raton tell a friend of mine that his 120k BMW Z-8 was the "nicest Miata she had ever seen".

Decided right there that I was not gonna own anything that could be mistakenly degraded like that. I got rid of the Fountain "cigarette boat" and got a real Cig.

I also think long-term resale will be better. My .02.

Different strokes for different folks, it's all about being on the water!!
Indeed OldSchool, you'll never be able to convince either party either way, especially when it comes to the estethics on a boat, as its all opinion.

Now this statement a about a Cig's a Cig and always will be a Cig, and there's no mistaken it well....
It's kinda rhetorical, what makes a Cig a Cig is it the History ?
Is it the monetary "mine cost more than yours" factor ?
Is it the extra bling factor ?
Is it the fact that every race-boat produced since it's inception holds an APBA National or World championship tile for a total of 7 in 3 years ? ohh wait that last one is the ZR, my bad..kidding aside
it's all opinion, but comparing a ZR to a Baja that is just plain ignorant... You obviously have no clue or know what the ZR is all about

You'll never be able to convince me of on the heritage factor, or this legend theory of yours... it was just the product of a well rehearsed marketing campaign, the fact is you can't pronounce yourself a legend ! I'll give you this " fast-boats used to be called "ciggarettes". all yours !

Cost ? Sorry I can find alot of places put my extra $200K.

Bling ? I'm partial to a classier boat, I don't need pirates and wild graphics, I think less is more.( again Opinion)

Technology ? well that's where those recent championships come into play.... I don't see the technology "fading" as you put it, how would it fade? and if it did, wouldn't the ZR's still be ahead ?

And for the record, you would never hear a Donzi member even mention a Cig and a Baja in the same sentence, ok maybe once, " to me the wind deflector on those Cigs looks like it could have come from Baja" there I said it ! and I will not take that back

There's no talking down a Cig, but Pm your alittle to enamored with the product, obviously you where the targeted audience for this legend marketing campaign....

Boy, that is a harsh statement,I think that you are being a little overreactive. I have always said that the ZR is a nice boat and even considered purchasing one myself. If I knew that it would offended you that much i would not have even bothered.By,the way ,I thought it was funny how a couple of guys who already owned ZRs were commenting on the Gladiator. It seems ok for you guys to talk negatively and comment on the Cig forum with your multiple ZR plugs. Maybe the Baja comparison statement was a little insulting but I didnt think that you were so thin-skinned.As a matter of fact,I held back from what I really thought.Anyhow, enjoy your Zr,s, the season is too short.
