43 ZR Comp

Do you think Donzi will ever make a 43 ZR Comp???? 4 Seats across the back would be really nice.....:D

OL40SVX 06-17-2007 08:04 PM

You never know.

maxonmike 06-17-2007 09:56 PM

And a wrap around windshield like the MTI 6 Seater.... Now that would be a nice ride......:evilb:

OL40SVX 06-17-2007 10:02 PM

Just wait a bit and see what comes out in years to come.:D

maxonmike 06-17-2007 10:04 PM

Think it will take years??????????????

OL40SVX 06-17-2007 10:23 PM

It depends on how well the new 38ZR comps do in the market. Just be patient and you might get what your looking for.

PurpleStuff 06-17-2007 11:40 PM

all it takes is an order for one!

Shanghied Again 06-18-2007 08:49 AM

It takes more then an order for one, the mold alone will cost, we are working on Donzi to build one I know 3 people already that would want one including Maxon Mike.

maxonmike 06-18-2007 09:17 AM

Thats right Frank.... Maybe this post will help move things along.....:D

ITLLFLI 06-18-2007 10:48 AM

That would be awesome!

I do a agree on the windshield....a full wrap around would be really nice!

Tom A. 06-18-2007 02:35 PM

Low cut Comp Deck, full wrap windshield, removeable hard top, quad step, light layup, full stagger, #6's, 1250 Mercs......
sorry I have to stop and go back to work to save up for my dream!:p

Can you walk on the hatch of a 38 ZRC? I was just wondering if you could put a mount a swim platform on the back of one.

OL40SVX 06-19-2007 07:07 PM

Of course you can. A platform on the back is very handy. We have one on the Gladiator and it works out great. I haven't seen one on a ZR comp though.

The reason I ask is that I was told by someone who has ridden in a few of them that you are not suppose to walk on the engine hatch of the zrc's. He didn't know if it is because they are too slippery or because they are made very light weight for speed.

If they couldn't put a sunpad on the back of the hatch then the boat might be too impratical for my needs.

ITLLFLI 06-20-2007 09:56 AM

I have walked on one before. I was with someone from the factory and he never said anything about it. Seemed plenty sturdy for my 195 lbs!

Marginmn 06-20-2007 09:57 AM

tks

customryder 06-29-2007 08:56 PM

you can walk on them fine.

Shanghied Again 07-16-2007 03:26 PM

No Problem walking on ours, she is solid (Just watch after you wax  ) She is solid

There was one that had 2 small platforms on the back and also I think a couple of the first ones had a pad inset on the hatch.

My memeory might be bad but I know there was one with the platforms.

Tommy, I'll have to find the picture from 2 years ago when the 42 PR Fountain was berthed beside the 38ZR-525.
Seemed sort of weird that they were both backed in, and the both seemed to stick out past the dock the same distance...... :D

yeah. goto fountainpower.com and check out the sportboats..

OL40SVX 12-20-2007 05:31 PM

That doesnt mean they've built one yesturday!!! You have made posts in the past couple of days and it sounds like you know absolutly nothing about anything. So who are you and what do you run/own??

HotSpare 12-21-2007 05:33 PM

Just can't know ??????

In my humble opinion .............. I don't see Donzi building the 43 comp at this point .......... Seems they've have a hard enough time moving the 38's ...... Which I think are awsome machines for sure but, It's all about the money ......... We know that Donzi could deliver the biggest baddest boat of all time/any time ..... But probably wouldn't sell enough to even pay for its self ....... Gotta scratch that nitche ...... I know they've got plans for a cat boat though ....... Wouldn't that be a twist ..........LOL.... I love playin armchair anaylist .....:cool-smiley-027:

PokerFace23 12-21-2007 07:07 PM

what the hell dude, i just saw a copule of them around and they were pretty hot, idk how long they have been making them though

HotSpare 12-21-2007 11:06 PM

Very Hot Boat Alright ..............

Yep, the 38 comp is very hot, but not a big seller ..... It's pretty much a race boat out the box. It debued in 2002, and was a winner from the start ...... Only seats a few people, It's for the absolute hardcore speed/performance junki ............. narrow market big money stuff ........... Reserved for the fortunate few ............LOL.... :cool-smiley-027:

OL40SVX 12-21-2007 11:12 PM

He was talking about the Fountain. The Donzi is sweet though. Just saw the one from the Ft. Lauderdale show in person and its stunning!! I dont know why more people dont buy these things. Its sad to see that the sit down boats have started to fade out. You cant beat them!!

HotSpare 12-21-2007 11:30 PM

LOL............. :cool-smiley-027: Thank's for the correction ............

maxonmike 12-22-2007 06:32 AM

It seems to me that the Cat market has also started to fade. Lots of competition, High insurance rates, Difficult to trailer.... I think Donzi would be crazy  to build a Cat in this market. A 43 Comp Would be the way to go!! They already have a Mold for a 43. The Comp Version probably would require a few mod's, extra steps, free board, Etc. If Donzi made A 43 Comp it should have a MTI style full wrap around windshield and a 6 seat configuration would be a must. No one currently makes a boat like this. Throw in a pair of Merc 1075's and you got a real unique 120+MPH Bad Ass Boat.... :D:D

HotSpare 12-22-2007 10:48 AM

Yes............LOL... :cool-smiley-027: The cat thing was more of a joke really .... But, It's no suprise that they would have plans for one tucked away somewhere .......... The big power 43 comp you described would be awsome though ...... Kinda sound's like OL, territory, but who knows ,,, It could take off .......

OL40SVX 12-22-2007 10:58 AM

Yea what he described is Outerlimits pretty much!!

maxonmike 12-22-2007 11:30 PM

To the best of my knowledge the Outerlimits GTX's only come in a 5 seat configurations. If im wrong on this please correct me.... We all know that Outerlimits boats are very nice but VERY expensive. Based on what I have seen the 38 Comps sell for, I think Donzi could offer a 43 Comp for much less then an equivalent Outerlimits GTX

Scott B 12-23-2007 06:29 AM

Actually, Donzi does have a cat design tucked away....

You are right. OL doesnt buid a six seater, but if you want one they will build it. Donzi could probably build a 43 comp and offer it less than an OL but there's really know market for one and they would most likely loose money. Outerlimits has that maket. There's no question about it.

maxonmike 12-23-2007 11:00 AM

How much over $800,000 Would that be???? I guess you can do just about anything if your willing to throw enough $$$$ At it......:argue::boat:

I dont know about that...yes OL has a large segment of the sit down market, but I think Donzi could have a piece of that as well. The ZR bottom is a great bottom, it has proven itself on the race course, and that's what these sit down boats are intended for..speed. Donzi will build it for less money, less quality, but will be in reach for the masses..Ol like their ads say: they are not for everyone, for the select few..and Mike has carved a nice niche with his entire line. I SAY BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME.:cool-smiley-011:

OL40SVX 12-30-2007 04:48 PM

The 38 bottom is awesome but the 43 bottom is a little slow compared to the others. The sit-down market unfortunatly is dead. I dont know why since they're the best for offshore boating!!

OL40SVX 12-30-2007 05:16 PM

They have nothing to do with this thread. By the way, only one was from Ocean Perofrmance.
