None of my factory stuff shows mandatory hyd steering on the 22.. Maybe they really do things different up North..

Hydraulic is SOOOO much nicer than the stock mercruiser steering.

(Got a Fountain, had a Howard 23 very similar to a 22 classic, and one-a-these-days gonna-get-me-a 22 classic)

When I bought my boat WAY back in 05 there was NOT an option for Hydraulic steering from the factory or was it mandatory.....and guess what I live up NORTH

I got a one ram Mafair. May up to two one day for bling. One did the trick pretty well.

Have you stuck a shorty in your 18?
