Have you guys seen any with a cushion hatch vs a fiberglass hatch? I will be in the market for one very soon. But we spend a lot of time rafted off. I don't want to loose any more room for the women to catch some rays:)

No cushion hatches, however with the flat deck and recessed grabrail you got plenty of room for laying out on blankets up front. The comp with its sit down race bolsters is not a good "social hanging out" layout.

Yea the Gladiator and ZRC were made for the purists that like to run!!
Besides the best partying happens AFTER a good hard run. :ernaehrung004: When we do a big raft up @ NJPPC we get the cruisers and center consoles in the middle and hang and party on them! :ernaehrung004: |

Comparing to a 39 Top Gun
On an earlier post, the question was asked how a ZRC compares to a 39 Top Gun in 4-6's. At the 2007 Chicago Poker run, we had those exact conditions, with some large holes to make it interesting. You know, the 3 seconds at 80 mph air time stuff. I never saw a Top Gun, except at the dock....LOL!!!!! In the rough, that 39 better have 700's, and at that, I do not think that he will drive around a ZRC with 575's, or 600's. I certainly would not be concerned. From the hole shot, the ZRC will be pretty far in front. The acceleration is crazy. So, on the 4-6's, how long will those "hand grenade" NXT's last? They are not holding up here in Chicago....The Top Gun pilot will have to stand on the 700's for a while to make up the distance. It did not seem to happen that way at the Chicago run.:Whatever:
As far as socializing, and looking Bad AZZ, the 39 Top Gun Rules!!!!! I would buy the ZRC, befriend some one with a 39 Top Gun, and live happily ever after!!!!!! |

I had a dash plaque on my old 22' Classic that said:
Get In, Sit Down Shut Up, Hold On |
Mike, if you're still looking for that boat at the "right price" why don't you give me a call. I'm sure we could tighten up the #'s. Chris.

Really? I have not heard of one single NXT detonating but am certainley interested in any factual information you may regarding such an incident...or incidents as your post intimates. Curious, what type of drives are you running (Bravo's?) and do you really think they are more bullet proof than the NXT? I'd be really interested in watching a Bravo ZRC run against an NXT 39TG in big water...those "real" props on the NXT make a huge difference. |
I agree Omerta, the NXT is an awesome drive and the 700 motor combo is great. I have no doubt the NXT drive will outlast a Bravo drive.
That being said, why don't we see how the boats run personally. My 625hp 38 Comp Vs. your 39TG 700NXT Say 1000 Islands in August! We can take a run in the Lake. Loser buys the beer back on the docks!:ernaehrung004: |
