Airshares asked for retail pricing. What do most think donzi's are being discounted?

With this market who can tell. It would all depend on how qualified the buyer is and hurting the dealer is. I can't imagine paying over 100k for the new Donzi. But I am no expert, just a hunch. Why pay more when there are other manufactures that will go that low or a like new boat near repossession that can be had at a steal just to get out ot the loan. Just my .02 I hope I am not comming across like an a$$.
|
Some dealers discount to about 15%. At least that was in the past. Everyone is different at arriving on their asking prices. ALso these days it is anyones guess. However I will say it is a tough market and most dealers are pricing to have the boats sell sell sell if they can. That said the bigger problem is that people who want loans are having trouble getting them even if the rep wants to work with them and the people have good credit.. It's a reall tough gig right now and I am glad I am not running a boat sales facility as my main line of income..
on a different note SOX, I see you are in NE MD & have been to my pal's place in NE MD (Jackson's).. Woody is a good friend of mine. We should meet up sometime when we come to North East.. We are trying to come down in March.. :) Jamie |
I just ordered my new Donzi from Shipyard marine out of Wisconsin. They really went above and beyond in trying to help me get the boat I exactly wanted. I also felt that they were very aggressive with there pricing on a custom order. If anyone is in the market for a new or used Donzi, I highly recommend giving Scott at Shipyard Marine a call.

Very cool! What is the lead time? Keep us posted with photos!
Jamie, Sounds good! I talked with Woody about the 27 ZR he has (or had) in stock and he was going to offer me a great deal. Unfortunalty Karen was not thrilled with the layout so we held off. Give me a shout on Facebook when you guys are heading down and we'll hang! |
bajadream (should now be DONZIdream) thanks for the recommendation and kind words! You've been a great customer and asset to us and working with you on the order for your 09' 27 ZR has been a blast; it's amazing what Donzi is doing on your custom order and I'm pumped to see it when we go to pick it up!
|
The boat should be ready for pickup in early april. I ordered custom graphics, this will be the first 27 zr donzi has built with custom graphics. I should know sometime in the next week when the boat will go into production and donzi is doing a rendering of the grphics that I should be approving any day now. The process is very exciting, and to top it off I will be going to donzi to pick up the boat and get the factory tour.

bajadream,
You're going to love the boat! I've had my '07 for two seasons & don't regret a minute of it. Can't wait to see the graphics! J |
The options that I ordered are as follows:
2009 27 ZR w/ 525 bravo xr quick and quiet dual battery depth finder k-planes silver carbon upholstery w/red and black accents custom zoom graphics prestige trailer with spare The msrp was 175,000 |
Nice! She should fly with the 525!
Mine was 72 w/the 496/Bravo 1, 70 now w/the labbed Maximus but it brought the cruise up nicely(50 @ 3600). You should see low 80s with a sweet cruising speed! Post the rendition of the graphics so we can all drool! J |

I should be getting the graphic renderings sometime this week. The factory guys told me the 27 should do 80-82 with this engine package.
|
WOW! sounds like a great package! Lots of luck!

Well, if you want the blue motor you have to pay the piper!

Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing when I bought mine. The 525 was a $ 25k bump over the 496. Mine will get Raylar'd eventually so I'll end up close to the same place for less coin. The Blue motor is a sweet set-up, I just couldn't justify the premium for it.
J |
I like the Blue or you could sell the 496, take those funds and have a custom built 540 with a warranty. You will be kicking over 600hp for the same price.
|
That's true too. The blue is factory bullet proof but 600 ponies would be very sweet!

I really want to see someone put some big power in a 27ZR
|
My boat is going into production on monday, was told the graphic rendering should be ready on friday or monday hopefully.
Donzi is going to build a 27 zr with a merc 600, although for the extra coin and maybe a 5 mph increase I don't think it is worth it. When I decided to buy the 27 ZR I looked at all my options. I looked at the raylar kit and even a whipple. What I decided was that once you added a raylar or blower, cmi exhaust and upgraded the drive for the power. You were not saving enough money to go through all the trouble of having someone install all those parts. When you could factory order and have a warranty on a bullet proof package like the blue motor. I also looked into having a custom painter paint the graphics that the factory offered, but once again I felt it was worth the little extra cost and save the hassle of taking the boat to someone for a few weeks. The other big thing was the factory would warranty the paint so I could deal right with my dealer that I purchased the boat from. The hassle of dealing with multiple companies and the logistics of getting the boat to them for the work, and knowing that I would get exactly what I wanted seemed to make the most sense to have have Donzi take care of everything. I also don't want to leave out that Scott at Shipyard Marine did a bunch of the leg work for me in calling and getting quotes to compare pricing on paint from a couple of painters. In the end Donzi was able to step up and do what I wanted for what a custom painter would charge. |

I agree. This is sounding like the coolest 27 yet. Can't wait to see the pics!

For me, specifically, I learned from this process on the 27ZR that I should never assume that a manufacturer has limits (even in these times). If we had not had the opportunity to speak with the head management so easily regarding the changes in question, I think the 27ZR would have been passed by for other Brands due to the perceived limits on the 27. To sum it up for me - don't assume the blue motor and custom graphics are out of reach before you speak with the dealer/manufactuer! |

I like the Blue over the whipple idea too and it packs more hp than the Raylar 525.
I will be waiting to see that custom paint. I'll e-mail the graphic rendering to you as soon as it hits my in-box! |
Hey Bajadream,
Congrats on the new ride. When I bought my Donzi all the people at the Donzi factory were great to work with and very accomodating. You will love the blue motors. Best of Luck! Now you have to change your Login Name "baja??" Mark |
be careful with the quick and quiet.
there is no bolt on corsa quick and quiet for the 525. your only option would be some after flame setup for the 525. if someone tells you it works they are wrong....... 175k is a lot of money for a rather small 27 ft boat with single engine. i had a 27zr with a 496 and bravo 1x. was very happy with the boat. i sold it on at approx. 60 hours and stepped into a 32 sunny ssr with twin 525's and bravo xr's.....great boat. from my experience the 525 would be really pushing the 27. especially in bigger chop the ride becomes rather harsh. it will give you great cruising speeds. my 27zr used to chine walk at the upper 60's. good luck and enjoy |
The quick and quiet is a factory offered option, and I am sure that Donzi would not offer such an option if it would not work. I do know that the system for the 496 and the 525 are different, so I am sure everything will workout fine.
And as far as the 27 ZR being expensive and small for its size... I don't know what you would suggest for an alternative. The 28 sunsation with blue power is more money and something like a baja 26 outlaw with blue power maybe less money without the customization, then again it isn't built off of race proven technology an won't run anything close to 80 mph.:evilb: |
Baja/soon to be Donzi,
I'm trying to remember the reason, butI think they could not install the Corsa on my Donzi because of the staggered config so they went with Teague switchable tips on the exhaust. I was concerned until I tried them out and they work great. Could be an option for you to look at. Mark |
Mark, I am not sure what brand switchable exhaust Donzi will be using, although does it really matter. All I do know is that it was an option when I placed the order for the boat, so I am sure that Donzi would not have offered something unless they were sure that it would work properly.
I can't wait to see that rendering of the graphics for my boat, the anticipation is out of control |
I wish Donzi would make the billet controls standard like all the other boats in the ZR line. That is the only option that I think I wish I might have gotten.
If anyone knows how to change a screen name I would like to change might, not sure that you can? |

If anyone knows how to change a screen name I would like to change might, not sure that you can? I emailed OSO and they changed it for me. I am told that they dont' like to do it often but will do it on a case by case basis. That was in the old days. You certainly need to change it. |
yes definitely change screen name -thats almost as bad as sunsation dream
