Chine walking is where the boat "falls" left and then "falls" right. This is due to so much of the boat being out of the water that it can't balance itself up straight anymore and it falls from port-chine to starboard-chine and back. It can be kinda scary and if you have a ZX that goes fast enough, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
Does yours chine walk w/the extra HP of the scorpions or are you talking about a smaller ZX w/big HP?

The 26ZX with a bunch of Hp will do it. So will a 28ZX single with a bunch of hp. The Scorp 28's will do it too.

That depends. A 28ZX single will walk in the high 70's as it gets on pad. You can apply power and drive through.
My 26ZX will do it at 85 and up if it hits a side wake. It is best to walk it back down by easing back on the throttle. You can also snatch the throttle back and reapply. Not good for the drive though. I am getting some big tabs. Dropping them will work too.
The scorp guys have their own way. I am not sure what they do. Maybe correct with steering?

Hello,
I'm new to the site and am looking for info on a 96 donzi 27zx that I found. It has the single 454 mag which I'm sure is underpowered. The boat is mint however, and thought I could put a pro charger on it. We'd like to use it for long weekend trips and wondered if the cabin was large enough.
Any info would help, as I have owned 27 pachanga's and know nothing about Donzi except their quality. Thanks....

Good boats.. They take a good bit of power to get really moving tho.. If you are willing to put the time & effort in to get big power & do it right they do respond well. They are also wave crushers..
Donzi later tweaked some more things & offered the 26zx & 28zx.. The last 27's were similar to the early 26/28zx's with single power..
