Do you turn the props in or out?
How much did the tabs help?
What size did you go with?
I have a 99 28ZX I can keep from chine walking by slight
steering input , that is not going in a straight line but very close to it, a little tap helps too but I am wondering if some K planes would be the ticket , my power is stock 350 mags best speed is 70.5 gps but dont get chine walk till about 67 mph

Thanks Jamie, for the input. I had a 27 Pachanga that I loved and that was really solid also. I had the twin 350's and it would turn 60, 61. The cabin was really large with plenty of height when sitting on either cabin seat. Not sure about height in a donzi 27. I haven't seen this donzi yet so I'm looking for some answers.
My wife and I want to take some extended cruises....

Default 1996 27 zx

Does anyone know what kind of speed I'd get with a 454 mag in a 96 donzi 27zx? I'm thinking 50???

depending on where you boat maybe 54-57mph with that power. The later 26zx's would grab about 56-60 with the same power.. Jamie

Thanks Jamie....I boat on the CA delta right now, but I grew up on the St. Lawrence River in the 1000 islands and I'll be heading back there in a few years. Are there any drawbacks to the 27 ZX?? I know my Pachanga had some blistering problems on the bottom..

just talked to the guy on the phone and he runs the boat in Reno and Lake Tahoe. He says 44mph in the elevation and it's a 20% hit on top end, so that would be around 53....Man Jamie, you're good.....

I went with 280 Kplanes. You should be able to correct it with steering. I have a single 26ZX with over 850hp. My chine walk happens at speeds north of 85. It is usually induced by a side wake. You can't power or steer through at that speed. The boat pulls hard to 95 but I could not imagine driving through it. So far the tabs settle it nicely. Without tabs I had to bring it back to around 70 to get it back under control. Eddie Young got it to settle out by chopping the power and coming back in hard. I am sure it works but is a drive killer.
