Hello everyone-
-Im new to the forum and the new owner of a Donzi sweet 16 and just want to introduce myself. With that being said I noticed you guys give excellent advice. My boat is a 1976 sweet 16 Donzi that I purchased from a guy who had it sitting in rack storage. After cleaning her up and having a little outdrive/engine work done it ran beautifully this past summer on the CT river. Everything runs as it should but I noticed it takes the boat some time to get on plane and it has a slight vibration; the prop is old and on its way out. The engine in the boat is not original, it is out of a LT1 350 corvette. The outdrive is a volvo penta 280. My question is, what would the best prop for this boat be? Im looking to get on plane a little faster and pick up a little more speed. Thank you in advance for any advice.

They like blades with bow lift, I have a ron hill 26 pitch 4 blade for 200.00 shipped, It is for a standard bravo shaft . I not sure if it will work or not but with 350 hp good place to start, Round ear props mean bow lift and chopper blades mean stern lift. A four blade will get on plane easy and give you a better ride

The Ron Hill prop, won't fit the Volvo propshaft. As mentioned, a Solas is your best shot unless you can find a Volvo Ultra somewhere. Figure a 23/24 in the Ulta, a 23 in the Solas for a good startng point. The Solas blade grabs hard, so a size smaller than you might think is usually the ticket on them...
Any idea what the hull # is on your boat?

volvo ultra 14x24 with a heavy cup..if you just have the pin you will want to put it in the last hole out for faster speeds..you dont want to use bblades as for im sure he doens not know much about volvo aq drives and what works best for them..the prop guy you want to use is DAHpropellers.com ask for john,,he does all my volvo ultra props.. if you go with a bigger diameter prop on your 16 the boat will twist and list towards its starboard side and scare the chit out of you..thease are ultra props but ill bet their 24 pitch,,someone painted them black..if you cant find any contact billn2o on donzi, net ....he knows a guy that has a few new ones..

thanks everyone, @ mrfixxall - il be sure to contact john, @ innerrage - il be sure to contact you in the future. Also - i know its getting late but I have my boat in a garage and have to winterize it. Could anybody tell me the proper steps in doing this or should I just have it done? I heard inboards can be difficult.
