Default Complete rebuild hotrod / show 22 Classic

I'm building a Donzi 22 that I'm shooting for a balance between speed/power and showy. Planning on putting 800 to 950HP BB in it. Only thing original at the end will be the fiberglass. Seriously EVERYTHING will be new. I've done dozens of hotrod cars from frame up. This will be my first boat. My last boat was an 02 Fountain Lightning with twin 575s upgraded. That boat did 100 at 5,100 feet.
Since this is my first boat build I'm looking for good advice for 800+ HP drive / prop styles. Durability, eviciency, speed. I have available 2001 Speed 6 that uses off shore style prop but i don't know if that's a good choice.
Any educated / experience help or good referrals will be appreciated!
Thank you.

Welcome to the board and tons of good info here as well. Fastest recorded 22 so far is 112.6 which is damn impressive but hard to get info except we know it's a procharged big block not sure on drives. Most best setups depends on your x-dimension. Most run a -2IMCO lower if 2000' model or older. Some of the newer ones have higher x-dimension. I also have a 22 that will be running decent power 600 or so.

KRAUSMOTORSPORTS Thank you, I spoken with a couple guys who built high HP 22s. Both said they've experienced prop walk. Both said they went with a SCX upper and a 2imco lower. That seem to correct the prop walk and still have a strong durable drive.
What is your 22's top speed with 600hp, what drive and what elevation are you at?

Thanks again.

I'm on the Bay so Elevation is 0. I have not yet ran this boat with this power. Test will be in spring with props starting at 25p 4-blade which seem to be a nice start on test with the 22C. I'm running a standard Bravo 1. The previous owner ran an M1 Procharger on a mag 454 and I was told it ran "80-84" With standard Bravo and no external steering, however I find that hard to believe and if it did go that fast the driver had a death wish. Once we get it dialed in in the spring and the wife is happy with it then I'll look to do more to it. But if she's not crazy about the ride of the 22c we will be selling so I can upgrade and go bigger.
