The HP gears were shot peened to give them a little bit of magic. I still have the article on them somewhere. But they are still thin floored gears and a weak point. The plus side is, when you break a floor out, it usually doesn't cause much damage. If you can find a set of thin floored, you can drop them in and go, well after you make sure there are no particles left behind.
