Installed IMCO extreme lower- now gear lube is leaking from the low water pickup.
I installed a 2" shortie on my bravo 1 drive. It took a few tries to get it all lined up, but in the process, the bronze colored collar around the vertical drive shaft was stuck into the drive upper when I took the lower back off. (It started out as part of the lower unit) I checked and the o-ring looked good to go. I put it all together and now gear lube is dripping out the low water intake port. What can I check for when I take it back off? I'm about to take it to a mechanic and have them check it out...

I would say your most likely culprit is that you pinched an O ring between the 2 halves when you put them together. Take it back apart and take a look at them.

I had a problem with one not fully seating
agaist the upper unit.
it was the bolt that holds on the annode plate
( it sticks through the bottom of the upper housing,
and would hit the top of the leading edge of the
lower gearcase, not allowing the two to fully mate together)
it's item #36 in this picture

Yup, I had the problem with the bolt hitting. I shortened it and now the drive is sitting flush- but leaking. I think when I tried to tighten it with the anode bolt sticking down, I must have screwed up the o-ring.
