Default What Drive

32ft. V stepped Hull 7500lbs. New twin motors installed 660hp. whats your recommendations on drives?? Want good reliability and will be lake use only. I don't ever nail it out of the hole, but once its up and planing good we want to be able to use all the hp. Thanks in advance for your input.

XR, like on a Mercury 600SCi. Mercury rates their engines conservatively, so they are probably about the same power to-the-prop as your engines.

The long lowers, like on Imco, cause a lot more drag -- wetted surface is slow.

Last week I saw two identical boats, one with a 600 SCi+Xr, the other a 700 on-the-dyno with the long Imco lower, and the 600+XR was 5 mph faster.
