TRS LH or RH

Ok I guess i didn't ask my question correctly.
If you got a boat that had no outdrive on it just the engine, b/w tranny and TRS gimble. Which outdrive do you go with LH or RH or does it even matter.?

Actually the left hand unit is stronger than the right hand drive due to placement of the lower drive gear. It is located in the bullet, in front of the pinion gear and is supported much better than the right, which is located up against the bearing carrier and can move around some.
Konrad sets up most single engine boats with a left hand unit whenever possible.

My 20' cigarette has a lefty, but the steering is also on the left. The left hand propellor rotation is supposed to counteract the the engine torque. Also what Kurt said has been proven to be true on many high horsepower twin engine boats because the RH drive almost always fails long before the LH.
