Synthetic Drive Lube other than merc in xr?

At the end of the season last year I began using the Amsoil 75w/80w-90w synthetic gear lube...but nothing on the container states it as being "Severe". Guess I will have to check on that next time I order. I have only changed it once so far, but No metal fuzz on the magnetic drain plug yet though.

I ran Royal Purple 75-90w Synthetic last year and had zero problems for 300 hrs.
I had my xr drives serviced and Royal Purple recomended to go with their heavy duty 90w synthetic gear oil. So far no ploblems. My friend had his drives serviced at the same time and he is using the Mercury gear oil. I will post if we find one to be better but I think much of a drives life comes from the type of use and how quick you are on the sticks.
