Default Synthetic Drive Lube other than merc in xr?

Has anyone been using synthetic gear lube besides merc. Hi Po lube, in xr drives. Are there any benefits or problems to it and what brand?

Royal Purple, Torco, Redline - all are excellent and the typical choice by Racers for KILO Records.

Just switched from Amsoil to Royal Purple 75w90. With increased hp and torque, just wanted to make sure that the drives had the best.

Teague recommends Amsoil 75-110 severe gear oil.
I am using it.
Used to use Amsoil 75-90 severe gear oil. Drain plugs were always clean. Not so w/ Merc oil.

Thanks for the imput guys. I have been using Aisyn made by Aerospace Lubricants Inc out of Columbus OH. 80W Pro 21 Gear Lube They told me it can be used as motor oil also. Have had my share of the usual xr problems, upper shafts, gears, bent prop and vertical shafts, etc, but no explosions yet. Boat is run hard and Poker Runs etc. Oil turns dark after a couple of hrs. Have upgraded shafts, teague props & imco vertical, arizona upper shafts, seems to be holding together better now.
