Pro's & Con's of going from XR Sportmasters to Arneson's?

The complete ASD-7M set-up was around $47K and comes with most everything you should need. For my boat we first ran into some shipping issues where they were damaged and then the freight company lost them while they were being returned.
Eventually after a little over a month they were found and new ones were sent back.
The main item we ran into was that on my particular boat it had a larger notch than some of the other 3600's which prevented them to be down where they needed to be. To get the drives low enough and to get the right "X" dimension a filler piece had to be fabricated, installed and re-glassed to the boat to allow the stand-off boxes to be lowered around 2".
Other than these items and some minor ones like needing longer studs to bolt through the transom due to the thickness of mine it seems to be fairly straight forward. I wouldn't say it was easy since I know there's a fair amount of figuring and measuring tht has to go on when installing them and I personally didn't do any of the work.
I wouldn't have a problem doing it again but there would definitely be some questions I would ask Rik Wimp and provide him with more information about my exact boat and not just rely on the make and model to get things right.
Part of the problem is that it doesn't look like any two of them are exactly alike when there manufactured by one of the custom boat builders and subtle changes like transom notches to meet a particular power or drive set-up. While it doesn't make it impossible it would save you a ton of time and money trying to figure things out.

Motors are in and have been run, driveshaft angle doesn't seem to be that steep.... They fabricated a couple of scatter shields for the driveshaft's out of some 6" Schedule 40 aluminum pipe cut in half///

They really look nice mounted and Matt was able to get things cleaned up nicely in the bilge....
