Konrad or Merc
Which drive is going to give more hours of service and dependablity? Is stronger? Konrad or Merc NXT.
|
I don't think you will be able to get the NXT without buying a 700sci package.
|
My guess is probably the Konrad depending on power and the NXT is supposed to only be available as a complete assembly as Griff mentioned. I haven't seen a whole lot of real world information on the NXT as of yet...
|
I've got WAY more trouble free hours out of our Konrads than any Merc I've owned other than SSM drives. I think my Konrad customers will agree as none of them have had a drive fail yet either. Not saying the Konrads won't brake, we just haven't seen it yet.

considering the nxt uses the internals of a #6 i would think they are more dependable.

They do?!?!? |
The trany for the NXT has the same cone clutch design as the Bravo and we all know how reliable that is.
|
All speculation until the Fat Lady Sings!
I heard rumor of a 1075hp motor in front of an NXT setup in a 30' boat and it didnt break. But, we wont know until she does sing... There are always issues with new products, and it will be awhile till the public can get there hands on them. Although there are people splitting packages already, they are very pricey.. Just my 02. |
