Default How high to trim a Bravo One?

How high can one safely trim a Bravo One outdrive? My boat is a 24' Superboat Step Bottom with 500hp. To get the rpm we need, I need to trim the drive up and make some rooster tail. I've always thought that doing that with a bravo was bad news. How much rooster can you create without putting the drive in danger? I'm not talking a 50' #6 tail or anything, but probably 10-20'?

My Checkmate likes a tail about 2-3' tall and 100' back at 85mph or so.. So long as there is a load on the prop, you wont hurt it.. And a drive shower, and proper set, and... and.. and..

I heard someone say once that you should trim until you start to loose speed or porpoise. Not sure if that is correct or not. As long as props aren't breaking loose You should be fine.

If my memory is correct, You can safley trim until your rams are extended about 21.75" give or take .25" center of pin, to center of pin on the ram mounts.. You should have an indicator in your dash & probably a trim limit sawitch that you can set.
