Bravo Transom maintainance
I have my engine out and wonding what kind or preventive maintainance I can do to the housing bushings , has anyone installed grease fittings . I run in salt water the drive is a 98 and in good shape . Do people usually replace the bushings and seal on this transom assm.

What you might want to do while the engines are out is to remove the water inlet pipe and check for corrosion and also where the hose comes thru the gimble housing. If there is any major corrosin , need to consider having it replacesBushings are only replace as needed and for the seal no worrie

The water inlet is a very good idea. Also check to see if the gimble ring is still tight at the upper swivel. Measure the gap to make sure it hasn't fallen. As the ring corrodes the gap increases and the bellhousing lowers. This makes engine alignment difficult and stresses the engine coupling.
