I am trying to remove the transom assembly from my boat. I have a Bravo 1 drive, the motor is out, and lower unit is off, and I want to rebuild the transom assembly. It needs to have the steering tightened up and the bellows replaced. I can't seem to figure out why it won't come off the back of the boat. I have the 6 nuts and 2 bolts off, the shift cable and steering is disconnected. But it will only come apart about 1/2 inch, and then something is holding it on. I got to be missing something, all help and suggestions are appreciated.

You have the inner plate off too? Depending on how straight the holes were drilled its possible the studs are jamming. You may just need to work it off with a block of wood and/or a no bounce hammer.

Som People Add A Nice Bead Of Sillicone To The Mating Surfacs , Thus Making Them A Sum ***** To Get Off . I Know When I Changed Mine , Somone Had Put A Heck Of A Bead And It Stuck Like Hell, Ended Up Using A Pry Bar To Get It Started .
