standard bravo gears in a imco lower?
hello,
I have a brand new bravo 1X ratio 1:50 and considering to put a 2"shorty on because I want to build the engine as low as possible in the boat to get the greavity point low as possible ,but can I use my bravo gears in the shorty (case only) or need I a complete lower?
boat is a 21 phantom
engine gm Ls 2 from a corvette
thx bor

Bor,
The Imco case needs the -2" vertical shaft. If you buy the case new it comes with it. There are two special bearings that go on the vertical shaft. They are radiused were it sits against the flange.
Your propshaft, bearings and gears will fit in the new case. You can use a crush sleeve to set preload on the propshaft, I have done it before many times.
If you dont already have the lower case and shaft I can supply you with it and the special bearings. Also be willing to help you switch it over, or I can do it for you. If you want more info.. pm me. Be happy to help you out!!
