I believe teague swaps outs gears, shafts, and bearings.
Teague will warranty his XR for one year up to 900HP.
I think the way he "plays" is that he will take your drive and rebuild the whole thing with his hand selected heat treated parts.
One guy here on OSO has 2 seasons on a 130MPH cat with them.

You mentioned 8lbs earlier from a whipple mod- can you really go that high on 91?
On the water access to good fuel is a problem Ive never solved and has cost me many a supercharged engine rebuild.

The innercooler that whipple uses is highly efficient at reducing the intake charge temperature. All of Mercury's 700sci - 1200 sci motors are able to run on 91 octane. The 600 is rated at 87 octane due to its relatively conservative 4.5 lbs of boost.
Whipple also re-routes the water routing to my innercooler to bring it cooler water, and thereby reduce inlet temperature.
A stock 600sci produces aproximately 625hp at the crank, and 600 at the prop. Boost is limited so as to not surpass this horsepower rating by reducing the boost on the bottom end, to not eat outdrives, and on the top end to make it only produce 600 horsepower.
Just the PCM reprogram is worth 75 horsepower. Re-routing the inlet water and changing over to a smaller blower pulley for more boost gives you aproximatley another 60 horsepower. Changing over to the 700sci cam, and going with the next larger innercooler will net you 800 hp. One more smaller pulley nets you aproximately 875 hp.
The 600sci is a very de-tuned motor.

I believe that the Teague Platnum drive is just a re-labeled IMCO Extreme SC drive. The torsional shaft is also an IMCO piece. The gear-set is Bravo XR stuff.
I may be wrong... but that is what my reasearch and talking to IMCO and Teague has led me to believe.
I do believe that Teague assembles the parts and checks the tolerances themselves.

You can see this is if you look at them side by side.
Are you going to do any of the mods you mention after the warranty expires or before?
