Default How do I get the U-joints out - TRS

The book shows using an adapter (I'v got a 1 1/4 socket over one end), then press it out.
i'm using a vise as the press, I tried that but nothing moves. I afraid to put more pressure on it, may break the yoke??
Please tell me how to do this.
Thanks, Larry

Been a while since I did a TRS. Make sure there are no clips on the inside holding the caps in place.

Don't be afraid to put a little muscle into it baby. Put the caps under tension and then tap on the yokes a little bit with a ball-peen hammer if its really stuck. If they've been in there awhile it will take some pressure to get them to pop.

You can put a little heat on them as well.

Wear safety glasses if you put the torch too them. Sometimes you'll boil the grease out of them and it will spray out of the seals. A ball joint press like what you can rent at the auto part stores may be a little easier that a vise if you still have the shafts in the drive too. If you already have them out and doing it on a bench then nevermind.
