Bravo Side Fitting?
On the side of the upper case there is a fitting that is screwed into the case that points backward? The fitting is threaded into the case and is open on the other end? Does anyone know what this could be for? Note that the drive pickups are not used since I have separate water pickups on the hull but the drives still have the water pickup holes in the lower case.

Water does need to flow thru the drive to cool it!!! On a transom pickup boat, that is one of the techniques to keep water flowing. You can also put a fitting on it so that it points at the side of the case above the water jacket, or put a pipe over the top or around the back with holes in it to spray on the upper case.. the more the merrier!!
Hope that helps.

I di that when i raced Bravo's,,,had the water from the Drive pick up spray against the gimbal to cool the drive inside and the back side !!!!
Oh,,yes my boat also had transom pickups !!!
So instead of the water going thru the gimbal it sprayed onto the gimbal .
If u could post a picture ,,,it would probably be easyer to tell !!!

never had a problem with twin 650 + on a heavy 28 foot boat turning @ 7000 RPM going about 100+ . THAT IS FUN !!

That fitting is tapped right into the water jacket on the drive. It is either for an old drive shower feed or is the dump for the water that goes into the drive. I had my drive shower on my Pantera fed from that exact spot. I had a hull p/u for the engine. I also had a dump on the side of the boat where water coming in the drive would dump overboard.
