Anyone besides me ever have any reservations about sending your drives out to be repaired and either not ever seeing them again or them changing a bunch of stuff to run the bill up?Or getting someone elses junk back How does everyone protect themselves? I realize you can insure the shipping part but what about the repair shop. Who do you trust?

Why not take it to MC?
Mr Gadgets comes with high marks.

There are plenty of trustworthy shops on OSO that can work on your drives and give you a fair price. I wouldn't hesitate to send it out to most of them.
If you start looking for the lowest price and send them to acme drive rebuilders, then thats another story.

All you have to do is ask . If the place has a bad reputation I'm sure there are a lot of guy's on oso that will be more than glad to tell you about them. With that being said I have never read anything bad about mr gadgets.

A few names seem to come up more often are Mel Rigs and Duberts and MR Gadget. Ive never been to either are these guys high end shops or regular down to earth fellows . I dont realy want to take them myself figured I would send them on a truck and pick up two. Just want a fair deal nothing gold plated (ha ha) and only change what has to be at a fair price awfull easy to price gouge they know I wont take it back apart till next time it blows so I cant realy see what they charge for.
