If u can get enough negative if its in front of the pin, then u get more positive ,,or vise versa !!
If the indicator is on -0- when the drive is level with the hull,,then u got it right. ( this is on mechanical indicators with -3 to +7 if u have one that only goes from 0 to +10 ,,then 3 is level !!!!

Wild guess but are you referring to the trim pin insert? Also know as the celery stick or whale bone, if so the "factory" position for Bravo one is in front of the trim pin. The Bravo three shares a common upper and it should be behind the trim pin to limit negative trim thereby reducing stern lift to prevent spinout. The BIII can really lift the stern if trimmed under to far.
