Well, I got the old one back from SOS marine and the new one is waiting for my wallet to catch up so I thought id post some more pictures.

I didnt pay attention before but the threads are in bad shape, maybe that played a role?

And the gears are toast!

So, is this worth anything now?

About 50 cents a pound if you strip it down to "clean" alum.

If the drive shaft is not damaged it is worth something. New they were $397.00, but now they are no longer available from Mercury. I still think the key was left out.

The case may still be usable.I realize it has some skeg damage but that can be easily fixed. If all those parts slipped out without causing any major damage inside then it should be reusable.
