I tried that ,was guessing,ended up a little bur on the up piston,it was tricky to me in the pump valving,but it worked ,I guess ya really need to no the pressures before ajusting them?

just oredered a new set of SEI cylinders. You can buy the whole assembly, ready to go for about the same price as the rebuild kit from Merc. Don't know if it will work out, but it is worth a try...they have a warranty too.
