Bravo 3 problem
I have a 25' formula with a bravo 3. My problem is it dosnt go into forward. It goes in reverse but get's stuck in gear.
I disconnected the cable to the drive and shifted it manualy and still has the same problem. Anyone have any ideas or do i need a new one.
Thank You

It could be the linkage and shift detent system behind the back cover. They get corroded and cause this.
Part # 14 and 38.

You most likely need to pull the drive and replace the parts. that is if you determine they are bad first. I tried lubing mine before and it didn't help. New parts made it shift like butter.

where the cable hooks up in the drive is undone, pull the drive and find out why it came undone. have you shifted the drive with out it running? has the drive been off lately? sometimes the lead end on the cable will pull off causing this problem.

WOW!!! with you being a bravo guy, you should know this could be just a cable issue, Why is your first response to rebuild the upper???
It appears you are just looking to help yourself, NOT OTHERS...

Jim,
Don't forget the input shaft to the drive needs to be turning in order for a Bravo to shift properly..
Pull the drive and take off the back cap. Then turn the input shaft and see if you can shift it. I use a finish nail in a set of small Vice Grips to shift it while turning the input shaft. With the back cap off, it should shift very easily.. if not, then the problem is deeper.. But if it frees up then it is probably the detent ball and springs.
After you replace it, ball and springs, it may shift hard the first time. Run it through F, N, R, a couple of times.. and it will be good..
