Drive trim limit no longer working
#1
Went to the river last Friday and noticed I can trim the drive all the way up now without getting into the trailer button. Bad sending unit on the gimbal ring? If so, how hard are these to change out?

So, the wiring cannot be run without the bellhousing pulled off? Sorry, never had one go bad so I have no idea what I am dealing with here. If it is a case of just leave it alone and live with it I'm good with that.

Unfortunately, yes the drive, bell housing & upper boot must be removed from the gimble ring at minimum. The thru hull in the gimble is above them and is tight the way it is to get in there to do what you need.

Pull the side cap off and see if the contact blade is touching the contacts

When my mechanic replaced my trim sender on my Baja, they did it with the drive still on and turned all the way to one side. They used the old wires to pull the new wires through. It was tedious and took them a while, but they did it without removing the drive.
