I am having my motors built right now and I currently have trs's which I know will not live to long behind these engine's. I know everyone will want to say Konrad's which is fine but I like being different. I would really like to do a surface drive set up, a. they are unique b. they will hold the power c. I should be able to pull about 10 more mph on top end if set up right d. they look sweet throwing the rooster, and hanging off the back of the boat. But 50k plus on arnesons!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best bet would be to find a set of SSM 3's, 3A's, 4's or 5's and recut the transom.

Many high performance boats can what I call, surface a Bravo drive. Fountain race boats are a good example. However I do not think you have the hull for a really high x-dimension. It will only blow out and probably not even get on plane. Maybe check with the factory on how high you can go.

Bingo! My Donzi runs that high x-dim and I have an an almost surface drive height as seen in the rooster tail. Not too many Bravo boats throw a rooster tail or as Brad said can! It really depends on the hull design. My boat was the Donzi in house boat for four years and I can tell you they had every size spacer, shorty, etc. on it to dial it in.

Hey Rik, I have a formula 357 which has the trs set up currently. Is there any way to re use my borg warner transmission's, and leave the motor's where they are? Or do I need to move motors back and purchase the bravo conversion kit? Your product really is my 1st choice, I just am trying to get the cost down a little. What are my options with the trs/borg warner set up? Thanks!!!
