Default Konrad 520's in classifieds

In regards to the classifed listing of the 520 Konrad drive units.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o37120-en.html

The Konrad 520 is NOT a direct replacement for the Merc TRS. The 520 is a commercial/work boat drive with a much deeper lower gear housing. They do not run standard Bravo style props, they are built to run props to 20" diameter. Also, the upper input shaft will not work on a TRS application.

The 520 can be made to interchange with the old TR drive (typically found on older houseboats/cruisers) as long as the upper input shaft is swapped out for the correct application.

Can you swap the lowers to a shorter version to make the 520 a direct TRS replacement? What model is a TRS replacement?

Picked up a 3man raceboat with the TRS and was considering Konrad as a potential upgrade.

The TRS replacement is the Konrad 540PRS (Performance Replacement System) and is typically sold with a 1.51:1 ratio.
The 540 lower will bolt up to the 520 but the gear ratio of these 520's is 1.43:1. If you bolted up the 540 lower to this particular upper, you would have a 1.21:1 ratio. The upper input shaft would also have to be swapped out to accomodate the TRS transmission.

Feel free to call me direct for more info.
