I'll be pulling my drive soon to check alignment and gimbal bearing and U-joints and grease everything that can be greased but I was wondering if anti-seize might be a better choice than grease for the drive spline? I'll be filling it up with Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube.

OK. You know I was thinking after I posted this that I think there is a zerk fitting on the coupler. I will use my marine grease on that and the gimbal bearing and u-joints if they have zerks. Thanks.

Spline grease for the coupler splines, U-joint/gimble grease for those 2 items.
Different requirements= different grease properties. Merc has that figured out.

OK, is spline grease really needed or can I use the marine grease. The drive will be off at least every two years to check. I don't think it'll seize up. I was gonna do this next week weather permitting and the marine grease is already here.

The grease is not really to keep the drive from seizing in. It is to keep the coupler teeth from wearing out.
I use Lucas Red & Tacky grease when greasing the zerts. Its sticky like the Merc spine grease, but I can use it on my trailer bearings and gimbal as well.

Regular marine grease will not hold up well. As was said before the spline grease is better. I use the Amsoil Marine Grease on the splines, gimble, wheel bearings, ect.... Its pure synthetic and simlar consitancy to the spline grease.
