So I say "I swear there used to be a 1 year on the SCX". They reply "no that was only on the SC when combined with an ilmor engine". Ok

So I triple checked, no wrnty on the SCX or SCX4 either.

I also asked what HP and TQ the SCX and SCX4 are rated for. Beat around the bush again with "we run over 1000hp through it, bla bla etc etc". But finally said 800 ft/lbs.

The customer service at IMCO is horrible compared to John and the bravo shop (BMAX) or RIK at Arneson.

John and RIK are excited to talk to the customer and looking forward to helping in the future.

IMCO could care, have no passionate recommendations, make no small talk, etc.

They treated me like crap in the past also when I called about breaking a vertical shaft in my SC. They could care, made it a point to blame me, and did not care if I bought a pair of SCX drives to upgrade to.

I also have 2 close friends with similiar phone calls.

IMO Imco is like a bank, we need them more than they need us......
I had the same response when I blew two Extreme SC's in less than 20 hrs on 720 hp/tq. They rated the Extreme SC's to 800 hp as well. The response was; what part of no warranty don't you understand. Then they proceeded to try and blame me for my idle being at a 950 rpms. I sold them and never went back to their products.

I bought new BMax HT's with 2 yr warranty they were offereing at the time. I had an issue with the coupler between the upper and the lower on my 2nd season behind 838 hp and I shipped both drives back to them over the winter and they refreshed both drives free of charge.

Dean, the old owner, was difficult to deal with and took a very long time but I eventually got my drives back. Again, free of charge.

The new owner seems like a much more stand-up guy and so far I haven't used his services but did buy some oil, a reseviour and some o-ring kits and the customer services has been really good.

I'll be tearing my BMax's down this winter for a winter refresh.

The last time I talked to Imco about the -4, they said the drives would start shipping at the end of December or first of January. So, has anyone gotten an early Christmas gift??

FYI, I am in the process of having a 38 Donzi ZRC converted from side-by-side Bravo set up to staggered Arneson ASD-7s. I'll be posting updates as it progresses to let everyone know how it turns out.

Hope someone gets a set of -4 IMCO's on a twin V soon for a before and after comparison.

A surface style drive running a surface style prop will all dock alike.

SCX4, Arneson, #6, NXT, M8, Indy
