Surprised how many people have not read the entire thread??!

The SCT has been out for a while, it is the sister drive to the SCX minus the cone clutch to shift, instead it uses a transmission.

The new drive from imco that this thread is about currently has no name. I like to call it the SCX/SCT SURFACE drive.

Its NOT just a lower that is ment to bolt on to a existing upper.

new drive from IMCO-p1000414.jpg

Only good pic I have. What I can tell you is that when they came from IMCO it looked like pot metal...and there was no leading edge anywhere to be found. They are now a true satin finish...and have defined leading edge as well as less mass.

I dont believe that anyone has called it just a lower that bolts onto an existing upper. Obviously it wouldnt work, at least not with a #6 prop, as there would be no clearance.

Now, the combo that was just posted appears to be an SCT upper and a modified, much more hydrodynamical efficient lower. Since the SCX and the SCT use the same lower, it stands to reason that this could potentially bolt up to a standard SCX upper, which many people with SCX/SC combos would be glad to see happen considering that the current SCX lower is a bloated mess.

The upper is a scx or sct. I may be running these new drives on the galdiator. They have not tested the new lower but it is going on there hallet 44 with 1100,s. The boat has sct,s on it that is why this upper says sct. The drive is 4" shorter with the larger scx gear set. If this works well it will be the ticket.

The upper is different from the standard sct.
