I dont doubt Bob for a second, but I've heard in the past that he uses this 10-40 MCF in his race boat and if this is what he basises his suggestion on, I'm a little skeptical about using it in my own pleasure boat for a couple of reasons... Torco does not have the film strength of Hi-Perf oil at higher temps. Torco is a bit thinner but definitely not the longevity of Hi-Perf due to Hi-Perf's greater film strength. Hi-Perf IS allowed for use in the MC8 drive without voiding the warranty. I know it's better in VI's on high HP apps. The upper gears last much longer. Perhaps the synthetic Torco is better.
