SSM 6 gear lube?

Wondering what the preferred gear lube is these days for the dry sump 6's... other than the Mercury HP lube and ultra expensive *** product.

Also, what intervals are you guys changing the oil at?

you can buy the merc HP gear lube at west marine if you have a port supply acct for $78 for the 2.5 gal jug. thats not too expensive is it?

Not too expensive, I was just wondering what other prefered options were out there these days.

BTW, anyone know the capacity spec for the dry sump 6 off hand?

A torco rep I spoke with told me that there is absolutely no reason that you couldn't run the RTF instead of the MTF. The RTF won't break down as bad under extreme pressure unlike the MTF, which leaves less of a cushion between the teeth on your gears.

The MTF, not so well..... according to the metalurgist, lmao. We'll see if the RTF is any better. I would really like to try your NEO oil. I'll give you a holler sometime later this week.

Dry Sump 6's take Torco - DO NOT use High Performance Gear oil -

fill to the vent level at the middle of the drive. Change every 25 hrs.
