Will a 2 bolt up where a bravo 1 was? gimble the same?
How strong is it and is it a up-grade from a 1??

Bravo 2 lower will bolt right up to a Bravo 1 upper, it also bolts right up to the bellhousing or gimle, however I would verify that gear ratio.

My cruiser came with a bravo 2, but now has a bravo 1 lower. I don't know the history or why it was changed, either damaged or the gear ratio was too low.
Bravo 2 has a different prop shaft than a bravo 1, props are very expensive and rare. I heard that TRS props will work but can't confirm.
Bravo 2's also have tractor gear ratios for big heavy boats, that is why I question the 1.5 ratio.
The gear set is stronger, and there is a ton of clearance between cavitation plate and prop, you can spin big wheels. However the x dimension is much much lower, going the wrong way on most speed boat applications.

From: Denmark and hopefully some place nice
In other words. It's a downgrade imo. Don't replace a B1 with a B2. On a boat build for a B1, the B2 won't make any sense what so ever.

Thanks guys thinking about a blower on the 496 ho mag in my 26 Velocity, knowing that the drive will get leaned on was just looking for something stronger. Deal or no deal looks like the B2 is not the way to go.
