that doesnt suprise me that they broke something they once delivered a computer i sent to my step daughter at Camp Lejune with water running out of the box. one thing you definately do not want to ever do is put fragile on the outside of the box as all of the shipping companies think that means the package is suppose to be used for a soccer ball

I ordered 2 qts of wax and 2 qts of 303 from Boatfix last year. UPS nearly flattened the box. The UPS driver brought the box, dripping, to our door step, hit the doorbell, AND RAN!!!

Back to you question ... I've seen cavitation plates where the corners were missing from having drive showers installed too close to the edge, and then the corner breaking out of the drive, maybe from fatigue or hitting something, and they were still using the outdrive. How big of a chunk is missing?

I had UPS break the skeg on my new XR lower unit a few months ago. I put an insurance claim in and got paid for a new case. I ended up having the damage one welded for $100.00. I Can not tell it was ever damaged now. i made out very good in the end. Jeff Wurl

thier is $2500 insurance on it. ups said they would send someone to my house to evaluate the damage. I thought if they paid a claim, that they would want to keep the drive.

I had ups bend a 6' piece of 1.5" .120 wall cromoly tubing at a 45 degree angle. The nice Universal Pulverization Service rep told me the cardboard tube it was shipped in was "improper packaging". I told him it was rollbar tubing for a race car, just what the phuck was i supposed to package it in that was stronger than the tubing???????

They broke 2 drives that were being shipped to me over the winter. What a hassel. If its heavy, they just drop it. Finally got one shipped to me on a pallet. That is the only way to ship a heavy piece in my opinion without it getting destroyed.
