What exactly does a shorter drive dor for you?

Griswald 08-23-2011 08:04 PM

cheater's way to raise the X

It pulls the drive out of the water farther, in turn less drag.. But basically what Griswald said.. less drag = faster

From what I have been told, its too high when the boat will not get on plane...or at least not well. Some say shorten the drive as much as you can, then space it down until it gets on plane.

Not trying to be a smartazz, just setting the record straight. You don't raise the x-dim, that stays the same. You shorten the x-dim on the drive, so the prop will sit higher relative to the boats x-dim.
