#6 Prop Shafts repairs

Has anyone repaired #6 prop shafts. I wear out the shaft where the seals make contact and they create a groove and then let water enter the system. I have had this problem before, has anyone ground the shaft and then rechromed them and then ground them down again to specs? These shafts are expensive as we all know and the repair is less than half of the cost of new?

There's a place in Seattle that will spray the surface with ceramic. Never a problem again! Flame Spray NW. I'm sure there are others too.

Thanks i will contact them. I was thinking about rechroming them and grinding them to specs. Just not sure how long that would last.

I was in there one time and they were repairing supercharger rotor scuffs. The rotors were 10+ feet long!

Would you have to start with new shafts for this, or okay to spray or weld the groove back up, machine and then flame spray?
