Default Alpha plate anode

My boat has an Alpha Gen 1. The "trim tab" anode is too big and gets in the way of the prop, so my next option is the flat plate anode. Problem is, I don't see any made specifically for the Gen 1. Will a Gen 2 anode fit just the same?

There are at least three versions (vastly different shapes) of the trim tab anode. I had to use one that was labeled"High Performance" to clear the props on my Chris Craft Stinger with three blade Clever props. I believe I got them at West Marine. If you can't find what I'm talking about get back to me and I will do some searching for you.

take a grinder and customize the trim anode till it clears the prop. just don't breathe the zinc dust.

We sell an anode made for outboards but it fits io units. it is better than the high perf because it gives help with steering pulling to the side. the part is amarket.com/im777a.htm and it is cheap. If you have no steering problems use the flat.
Be aware if you have power steering, you will not feel the steering pull but it will cost power because your boat is under constant steering correction. In other words you are steering to the side to keep straight. (sometimes the boat leans to either side)
To check steering pull, take the power steering belt off for a quick run and see if the steering wheel feels the same both directions. If not put a 777 anode and move the rear edge to the direction steering pulls until it gets even both ways, then put the belt back on.
good luck Buddy
