Default trim pump problems

The trim pump that runs my engine hatch started acting up last fall until now its stuck up.started sounding like it was cavitating going up, and youd have to hit the dowm switch a couple times then itd free up and go down.well it went up one last time and now it "free wheels" both directions and wont move at all? My guess is i broke something internally?

Its not an actuator.its a hydraulic trim pump that runs an actual hydraulic cylinder.
