Default Rebuilding Konrad upper

Has anyone here ever rebuilt there own Konrad upper, I broke some gear teeth in the upper of my 520 today and would like to rebuild it. Are any special tools needed. I have a 210 Cummins+Velvet 72c+spicer jackshaft+ 520 drive with approx 2000hrs. What could have caused this, my velvet drive seems to make a big hard clunk everytime it is shifted into gear.
